Portrait of me in the gym before a session

What actually happens in your first private session

No sparring, no ego, no shouting. Here is exactly how I run a first hour so you leave knowing more than when you arrived.

People arrive nervous. They think a boxing coach is going to test them. I am not testing you — I am reading you, and those are very different things.

The first twenty minutes

We talk, we move, I watch how you walk and how you carry your shoulders. I wrap your hands myself the first time and explain why the wrap goes where it goes. Then we warm the body properly: rope, footwork on the floor, shoulders.

The middle

Jab. Only the jab, most of the time. It is the punch that teaches distance, and distance is the whole sport. We work it on the mitts until your feet and your hand agree with each other.

The end

Conditioning tailored to what your body told me in the first hour, then stretching. You leave with two things to practise and a clear reason for each. That is it. No war stories, no chaos.
